“The Attorney General does not explain how allowing or recognizing same-sex marriage between two consenting adults will prevent heterosexual parents or other biological kin from caring for their biological children … He proffers no justification for why it is that the provisions in question single out same-sex couples and prohibit them, and them alone, from marrying in order to meet that goal.”
U.S. District Judge Ginny Granade, overturning Alabama’s ban on same-sex marriage.

I wanted to comment on your “Sweet Home Alabama” post, but it looks like comments are disabled, which is probably smart. I’m also a fellow Bay Minette-ian. Well, I’m in Spanish Fort now. I stumbled upon your blog and am so glad I did! I just wanted to say hello and am glad to see we’re not all so close-minded and hateful in our hearts. ♡

Thanks, Hannah. I know there are lots of good people in Bay Minette and all over the south — that’s why I hope more of us will stick around and help make it a better place to live. :)

Echoing Hannah’s sentiment and intent to comment on “Sweet Home Alabama”. It’s now the future! And things are slightly better! But not fundamentally, I fear. Not yet.
